Cando is a dynamic employee owned company in the business of supplying specialized services, quality materials, and innovative solutions to customers in the rail sector and to those industries that depend on the movement of bulk materials. Our experience and diverse range of services positions our company as a high value, expert, and seamless means of meeting customer needs. In business since 1978, with operations spanning North America and sales world wide, our company is committed to innovation, entrepreneurship, and a “can-do” approach to doing business.

Cando’s core capabilities in the rail industry include railway operations and industrial switching, transloading and freight logistics, rail materials reclamation and sales, rail spur/in-plant construction and maintenance, on track services, and a variety of contract services for the railway and related industries. Our companies currently employ in excess of 270 people at over a dozen fixed locations in various parts of Canada and have more than a dozen separate mobile crews in Canada and the US. The company owns and operates 22 locomotives and over 300 pieces of automotive, rail service and construction equipment.

Cando and its subsidiaries comprise a full service railway company that is fully bonded, and carries extensive liability and railway protective insurance. The company(s) employs proactive safety management programs that complement those of our customers and meet or exceed training requirements for operating and working in all classes of railroad environments.

Over 95% of Cando revenues are derived from railway operations and railway service contracts. Cando has a very successful record of growth, not only in dollars, but also in the growth of its people and support for the communities in which they live.
