The Barrie-Collingwood Railway (BCRY) is a short-line railway operation involving a partnership between the City of Barrie, Town of Collingwood, current shippers, CP Rail and the railway operator – Cando Contracting Ltd.
BCRY and CP staff work with local industries to evaluate railway shipping options to reduce freight costs and improve the bottom line. BCRY will work with customers to evaluate the benefits of railway shipments to support your business.
BCRY can either arrange for the construction of a rail siding directly into the customer’s facility or alternatively provide transloading service from our team tracks and arrange truck delivery to the customer’s operation.
Department Equipment and/or Facilities:
Our locomotive building, office and transload facilities are located at the Utopia Interchange Station # 3420 where we accept daily delivery from CP Rail, a Class 1 Railway connected directly to the North American Rail network. Transloading team tracks are also located at Utopia. Utopia Station is located west of Barrie on County Rd 56
