The Cando-Formet Loading and Switching Team provides timely, effective and safe rail car loading and switching services for Formet’s state-of-the-art truck frame manufacturing facility in St. Thomas, Ontario.

Switching and loading services are provided on a 24-hour per day, seven day per week basis. Our two-person switching crews manage the Formet Rail Yard, which has a storage capacity of 140 cars.

Approximately 50 loaded railcars are interchanged daily with CP, CN and NS.

In-plant switching of rail cars
