The Cando Switching Team provides timely, effective and safe railcar switching services for the Imperial Oil Refinery located in East Edmonton, Alberta.

This refinery produces and supplies most of the petroleum products for the NWT and Northern BC markets. Switching services are provided 24-hours a day, 7 days a week basis.

Four, 4 person switch crews manage the Imperial Oil railyard, which has a storage capacity of 225 cars.

Approximately 75 outbound railcars are interchanged daily with the CN and CP railways.

Cando recently constructed a railcar storage facility for Imperial Oil at mile 10 on CN Camrose sub.

The Bretona yard consists of 19,722 feet of trackage, 10 stub ended storage tracks and a 3000 foot clear run around track with the capacity to store 225 empty tank cars.

Cando crews operate trains when required by Imperial Oil to store and or remove cars to this yard.
